MOULTRIE COUNTY BOARD/COMMITTEE MEMBERS

(Unless the 1st of the month lands on Thursday, then it is the third Thursday of the month.)
FUNCTION
All business conducted by the Moultrie County Board begins at the committee level. In order to conduct business in an efficient and effective manner the Board has established twelve standing committees.
Some of these committees meet on a monthly basis; others meet "as needed". At their meetings, the committees discuss issues that are on their agenda and make recommendations to the Moultrie County Board. The Board at its regular monthly meeting either accepts their recommendations or rejects them.
Occasionally, a matter comes before the Board that none of these standing committees can adequately address. At that time the Board Chairman appoints an "ad hoc" committee to discuss only that one issue. After the issue has been considered the committee is abolished.
